evergreen trees
the sun
rises up
bathing
these waters
in diamonds
and such

Sailboats
arrive
on the breeze
like
a whisper
fluttering
sails
In the wind
listen
echoing
laughter
along the shore
children
arriving
skipping stones
from a wharf

Alone on a lake
with a single loon
calling
echoing
through
this silence
so
haunting
could it be
this
is all
that there is
sunlight
on
still water
evenings
like this
